Devanand Ramiah is currently working as a peacebuilding specialist for an international organization in New York. Before moving to BCPR in New York, Ramiah served as the peace and development specialist for UNDP Sri Lanka for four years. His UN experience includes serving in the United Nations Peacekeeping Missions in Kosovo and East Timor. Prior to joining the UN, he served as the coordinator of the Peace and Conflict Analysis Unit at the Center for Policy Alternatives, Colombo, Sri Lanka. Ramiah is a Fulbright scholar and holds a master's degree in conflict transformation from the Eastern Mennonite University. He has extensive training and teaching experience and has served as a visiting faculty for conflict resolution related programs at Bradford University (Sri Lankan Program), the joint United Nations University for Peace, Bandaranayake Center for International Studies Program, and Colombo University. He currently co-teaches the masters course on applied peacebuilding at the School of International and Public Affairs, Columbia University.
