Matias Sendoa Echanove

Matias Sendoa Echanove was born in Geneva, Switzerland, and studied economics at the LSE in London and urban planning at Columbia University in New York. He is now finishing a PhD thesis on information technology and participatory urban planning at the University of Tokyo. His interests include street-markets, the informal economy, unplanned settlements, participatory politics, and information. He coordinated the Urban Typhoon workshops in Shimokatzawa (Tokyo) and Dharavi (Mumbai). He is based in Mumbai, a co-founder of and, and a PUKAR associate.
